Acne treatment

We effectively treat acne, which can occur anywhere there are sebaceous glands, with various programs tailored to the causes and symptoms.

Acne is prone to recurrence if the underlying cause is not addressed.

Acne is caused by various factors. If the underlying causes are not addressed, the likelihood of recurrence is high, and failure to treat it at the appropriate time can leave pitted or hypertrophic scars. This is why it is crucial to accurately identify the cause and proceed with treatment tailored to that cause.

Chlorophyll PDT for Acne, Article Published in the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology

The clinical research results of Director Kwon In-ho on chlorophyll photodynamic therapy (PDT) for acne were published in the renowned international journal, the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, in 2014.

We do not treat everyone in the same way.

PHD Dermatology Acne Treatment Know-how Gold PTT

Webinar lecture for dermatologists

At PHD Dermatology, we conduct a 1:1 customized treatment program that considers the type and cause of acne, based on the extensive clinical know-how of a dermatologist from Seoul National University.
Various types of acne
Clinically, unlike adolescent acne, adult acne is characterized by fewer comedones and more inflammatory lesions; furthermore, while adolescent acne primarily occurs in the T-zone—such as the forehead, nose, and cheeks—where sebum secretion is high, adult acne is characterized by its distribution mainly around the mouth and chin, where there are relatively fewer sebaceous glands.
comedonal acne
It is a typical form of acne called whiteheads and blackheads depending on its color.
Papular acne
Many comedones, red papules, and pus-filled pustules form, and multiple pustules may become entangled, sometimes leading to a severe condition.
pustular acne
This is the stage where individual pimples become infected and form pustules deep within the skin, a form that acne patients intensely dislike.
Nodular acne
It is a form in which a large, raised nodule forms on the surface after the hair follicle wall is destroyed, feeling hard to the touch.
Cystic acne
When touched, it feels like it is filled with pus, and multiple cysts may clump together, causing the acne to grow larger.
Nodular acne
This is the most severe form of acne, and it is a case that requires long-term treatment due to the mixture of swollen, large tumors, cysts, and inflammatory nodules.
keloid acne
Continuous suppurating follicular inflammation and perifolliculitis form pincer-shaped keloids even after healing.
folliculitis
It occurs when the skin is damaged by external factors such as cosmetics or friction, or when skin immunity is weakened due to insufficient blood supply.
For effective treatment of acne, you must properly understand the underlying causes.
We treat with a combination program designed to enhance the effectiveness of acne treatment and minimize side effects.
It is important to treat acne consistently by regularly removing sebum and dead skin cells. At PHD Dermatology, we treat the core causes of acne to prevent recurrence and effectively improve the condition.
POINT 01

Acne treatment program

We deliver effective acne treatment results by utilizing a combination of in-house equipment tailored to your skin condition.

Agnes
By delivering heat only to the depth of the sebaceous glands, it minimizes damage to the epidermis and other skin tissues, selectively destroying the sebaceous glands; this results in a significantly lower recurrence rate of acne and long-lasting effects.
Gold PTT
Gold PTT accumulates fine gold microparticles in the sebaceous glands and acne bacteria within the dermis layer and then efficiently destroys them using laser light of a specific wavelength.
view
Neobeam
NeoBeam is a powerful long-wavelength laser that selectively destroys sebaceous glands while protecting the skin's epidermis without drug administration, thereby suppressing sebum secretion more quickly and effectively.
V-Beam Perfecta
With its function of destroying only dilated or thickened blood vessels, it has excellent therapeutic effects on acne red marks, facial flushing, hemangiomas, telangiectasia, red spots, dark circles, etc.
Chlorophyll PDT
This is an acne treatment method that involves absorbing chlorophyll photosynthetic agents, which are spirulina extracts, into sebaceous glands and acne bacteria, and then irradiating them with light to destroy the sebaceous glands, thereby reducing sebum secretion and sterilizing acne bacteria.
Spiculing
This skincare method utilizes natural ingredients to exhibit sebum suppression, skin regeneration, exfoliation, whitening, anti-inflammatory, and antibiotic pharmacological effects. It not only treats acne but also prevents its recurrence.
Post-procedure precautions
01
Please refrain from using hot saunas, bathhouses, or swimming pools after the procedure.
02
For about a week after the procedure, you should avoid touching, exfoliating, or strong irritation.
